Should I replace my old furnace and AC with a heat pump?
It is worth comparing at replacement time. A heat pump handles both heating and cooling, and Bay Area Air District rules limit sales of new gas furnaces from 2029. HAXX sizes the system and checks the panel first.
Who supplies electricity in Union City, and are there rebates?
Ava Community Energy is the default electricity provider, with PG&E delivering it. Ava's incentive finder lists current rebates and tax credits by ZIP code and household. Confirm eligibility with each program.
Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?
Not always. Union City asks for a load calculation for chargers of 30 amps or more, and that calculation shows whether the existing panel has room. A panel upgrade needs its own permit.
How are permits handled in Union City?
