Most San Jose homes were built between the 1950s and 1980s. That shapes what a new system or a bigger electrical load needs.
Many San Jose homes still have 100-amp panels. Before adding AC, a heat pump or an EV charger, HAXX reviews the existing load first and only recommends an upgrade when the numbers call for it.
Craftsman and period homes in Willow Glen, Naglee Park and the Rose Garden often have tight duct runs. Eichler homes in parts of San Jose have no attic and radiant floors, so ductless or low-profile systems usually fit better.
Electricity in San Jose comes from San Jose Clean Energy, delivered by PG&E. HVAC and electrical permits go through the City of San Jose, and HAXX handles the filing and inspection.
