Heat pump problems
we diagnose and fix.
Ducted systems, ductless mini-splits and multi-zone heat pumps. Tell us what the system is doing and we start the visit with that symptom.
Ice on the outdoor unit
Some frost in winter is normal. A unit that stays iced points to airflow, refrigerant or defrost-control problems.
Mini-split error codes
Blinking lights and error codes on Mitsubishi, Daikin, Fujitsu and other ductless systems, traced to the sensor, board or refrigerant issue behind them.
Short cycling and noise
Units that start and stop, rattle, hum or trip the breaker are checked for electrical, airflow and sizing problems.
Water leaks from indoor heads
Clogged condensate lines and drain pumps cleared and tested before water damages the wall.
Repair or replace advice
If the system is not worth fixing, you get the reasons in writing and options to compare, not pressure.
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DETAILSHeat pump repair
Heat pump repair
in South San Francisco.
Pacific wind keeps South San Francisco cool most of the year, so a heat pump here works mainly as a heater. When it stops, the house gets cold fast.
01
Defrost and sensor faults
Long cool, damp stretches put steady work on defrost boards, coil sensors and reversing valves. HAXX tests each before replacing parts.
02
Condos and townhomes
Units in Westborough and Terrabay often have tight closets or rooftop condensers. HAXX plans access before the visit.
03
Wiring on the same call
As a C-10 electrical contractor, HAXX also checks breakers, disconnects and low-voltage control wiring.

GOOD TO KNOW
Heat Pump Repair in South San Francisco: questions, answered.
Why is my heat pump blowing cool air in heat mode?
Common causes are a defrost cycle that never ends, a stuck reversing valve, a failed sensor or low refrigerant. HAXX measures pressures and temperatures to find which one.
Do you repair heat pumps in South San Francisco condos?
Yes. HAXX works in condos and townhomes and coordinates with the HOA when equipment sits on a roof or in a common area.
Is it worth repairing an older heat pump?
It depends on the fault, the refrigerant the system uses and the condition of the compressor and coils. HAXX explains the repair cost against replacement options so you can decide.
Do you repair ductless mini-splits?
Yes. HAXX services wall, ceiling cassette and ducted mini-split heads, single-zone and multi-zone.
