San Pablo is a compact western Contra Costa County city, incorporated in 1948, on the plain between the north end of the Berkeley Hills and San Pablo Bay. Wildcat and San Pablo creeks cross it.
After World War II, farmland was split into housing tracts, and most of the city is now established small-lot single-family neighborhoods. City plans encourage ADUs, and more than half of households rent.
City permit records show both like-for-like 100-amp panel replacements and upgrades to 200-amp service. A load calculation shows what a home can add before new equipment is ordered.
San Pablo joined MCE in 2014, and residents were enrolled in 2015, with PG&E delivering power. MCE lists energy efficiency and EV programs; confirm eligibility directly with MCE.
