LOCAL DETAILS THAT MATTERServing homes in
Serving homes in
Monte Sereno.
Monte Sereno is a small, almost entirely single-family city between Los Gatos and Saratoga. One HAXX team handles HVAC, wiring and appliances on the same property.
01
Housing stock
About 1,300 homes, from a 1969-70 Eichler cul-de-sac on Via Sereno to custom houses on larger hillside lots in the R-1-20 and R-1-44 districts.
02
Panels and hillside loads
Heat pumps, EV chargers, pool equipment and outbuildings strain older services. The city asks for load calculations with EV permits, and HAXX starts every project with one.
03
SVCE and incentives
Silicon Valley Clean Energy supplies Monte Sereno's electricity, with PG&E delivering it. SVCE lists rebates for heat pumps, heat pump water heaters and electrical upgrades.

GOOD TO KNOW
Monte Sereno questions, answered.
Do I have to replace my gas furnace with a heat pump in Monte Sereno?
No. The city's reach code applies to new construction permits and exempts replacement of existing appliances. Heat pumps remain optional and may qualify for SVCE rebates.
Who provides electricity and rebates in Monte Sereno?
Silicon Valley Clean Energy provides the electricity, PG&E delivers it, and SVCE lists electrification rebates. Confirm current terms with SVCE before you sign.
Will an EV charger require a panel upgrade?
Not always. Monte Sereno requires a load calculation with the EV permit, and it shows whether the existing panel has capacity.
How are permits handled in Monte Sereno?
HAXX submits applications through the city's ePermits portal, then meets the inspector for the final, where a smoke and CO alarm certification form is required.
