Load calculation
A written load calculation of existing and planned appliances, so you know whether you need more capacity at all.

Most panel projects start with a heat pump, EV charger, induction range or remodel. HAXX begins with your real electrical load and only upgrades what the numbers require.

Replacing outdated, full or recalled panels, including Zinsco and Federal Pacific.
Coordinating the utility, meter and service equipment when the home needs more power from the street.
Adding a subpanel for a garage, ADU or new circuits when the main panel is out of space.
Smart panels and circuit-sharing devices that can avoid a service upgrade in some homes.
HAXX handles the permit, the inspection and the PG&E work order.
In Alameda the utility side of a panel job is handled by AMP, not PG&E. AMP schedules the disconnect and reconnect, and panels must be on the EUSERC-approved list.
Per the city's service requirements, AMP requires that modifying any part of an existing service brings the whole service up to current code, including surge protection.
AMP lists up to $1,500 for a main panel upgrade of at least 15 amps tied to a heat pump or heat pump water heater, done by a licensed electrician with a city permit. Confirm terms with AMP.
Single-family services up to 200 amps can use the city's Express permit. Larger services need a standard permit with load calculations.

AMP lists a rebate for main panel upgrades tied to a heat pump or heat pump water heater. Subpanels do not qualify. Check current terms with AMP.
Not always. A load calculation shows whether your current service can carry the new appliances, sometimes with load management. HAXX recommends an upgrade only when the numbers require it.
The panel swap itself is usually one day. Permits and utility scheduling for service upgrades can add several weeks, so plan early.
