San Leandro grew from about 27,500 people in 1950 to nearly 66,000 in 1960, so much of the city is postwar housing, with older period homes in the north end. HAXX plans HVAC and electrical work around the house in front of it.
Estudillo Estates and Broadmoor, between I-580 and I-880 near Oakland, have Tudor, Colonial and Mediterranean homes from the 1920s and 1930s. Washington Manor and Bay-O-Vista are mostly single-family homes from later decades.
Older services and pre-1960 wiring are common. San Leandro lists main panel upgrades and rewiring among permits issued without plan review, and includes an Electrical Load Calculation Form in its submittals.
San Leandro is served by Ava Community Energy, with residential accounts enrolled in its Renewable 100 service by default and PG&E delivering the power. Ava, BayREN and PG&E have listed electrification offers; confirm current terms with each.
