Does Brisbane require a heat pump when I replace my furnace or AC?
Not under the city's reach code. Brisbane's Ordinance 691 applies to new buildings, and the city states that remodels and additions to existing structures are not subject to it. Bay Area Air District rules will limit sales of new gas furnaces from 2029.
What rebates exist for Brisbane homeowners?
WestLight Energy (formerly Peninsula Clean Energy) lists a heat pump rebate on its website, and BayREN offers free Home Energy Advisors. Terms change, so confirm eligibility directly with each program.
Can I add an EV charger without a new panel?
Often. A load calculation shows the spare capacity in the panel, and a load management device or smart panel can share capacity between the charger and other large loads.
How are permits handled in Brisbane?
Building permit applications are filed online through the City of Brisbane's Clariti Permit Portal, and contractors need a valid City business license. HAXX applies for the permit and is present for the inspection.
